my process
I start with the initial consultation so I can understand the scope of work and create a design fee proposal for my services. I charge $100/per hour and my services include a master plan sketch (a rendered drawing to show the design vision), design inspiration images, and a meeting to determine the next steps and budget. I'll bring examples of what this sketch looks like when we meet for the initial consultation. This task can take 10-40+ hours of my time (depending on the space's scope and size). Some of my clients just want the master plan to get ideas, and then move into the next phase at a later time.
Once we've arrived at a design, I create the construction documents (to give to a landscape contractor), which can include: a demolition plan, site plan, planting plan, irrigation plan, lighting plan, and a 3D digital model (each plan can take between 6-24+ hours). It all depends on your project needs, and we can easily do the project in phases. My design fee typically starts at $8,000 for the full design package (master plan and construction documents) but varies based on the scope of work.
